SKEGNESS
On Wednesday evening the 1st of February members of the Skegness Province along with their partners held a celebratory evening and buffet at the Craigside Hotel when the retiring Worthy Grand Primo, Bro John Turner R.O.H. presented a cheque to Sue Walker of the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Charity for £500.00, this being the sum he had raised during his term of office. Many thanks to Bro Jimmy Hardy and his Buffess Jackie for providing the venue and also to Bro John for emptying his pockets to pay for the buffet. All in all a wonderful and worthwhile event. BRIGHTON A thank you letter from the Grand President I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all members of the Brighton Province for their kind invitation for me to attend the Ladies Dinner Dance on the evening of Saturday 21st January. Shortly after our arrival at the Queens hotel Emma and I met up with Bernie, Toni and little Ernie Taylor, who were making sure that the final preparations were in order to ensure the smooth running of the dinner. The accommodation was perfect, the food was great and the company was excellent, what more could you ask for, a special thank you to Toni who spent most of the evening ensuring that all went to plan. Even the entertainment was worthy of mention, with Bro's David Odey and John Collins playing air guitar to the music of Status Quo. All in all it was a great weekend that we will never forget, Emma and I were presented with a photo album to keep all of our memories in from my year in office and a framed photograph of Emma who was also given a huge bouquet of flowers. We won a bottle of champagne in the raffle and also a clock which my daughter has fallen in love with. I am pretty sure we were the last to leave the function room. Brighton Province certainly know how to make you feel welcome and I must owe Bro Ernie a pint or two. All the best for 2012. Yours most faithfully and fraternally, Bro Tony A.D.Cooke R.O.H.
